Spring is Blooming cake [A-list #10]

Standard

Urgh…What happened to my A-LIST?! What happened to my 4 months of holidays?! Time seriously just passed on WAY too fast. But fret not, at least I got 10 done..And I’m not gonna stop till I get this list done I tell ya! (It might take a year, but who cares anyways)

So I got a referral from a customer of mine..So this time around, I was introduced to Rima, and she needed a cake for her hantaran and what she showed me had reminded of spring. So I sent her a sketch of a cake that was inspired partly by my A-list and partly from the picture she showed me. So the cake itself was a green ombre cake with lemon swiss meringue buttercream, but unfortunately I have no pictures as proof. *shrugs* you’ll just have to take my word for it. Lol!

So here’s the little beauty! photo 2photo 1So 10 down, 20 more to go!

The Weekend where Everybody was in Singapore

Standard

The random long weekend that was marked in everybody’s calender as THE weekend to visit Singapore.

I had ended up in Singapore for LANEWAY with the gibbon! My sister was there for Universal Studios, and well my mom was there for the grandkids of course.. A different kind of vacation I must say, where everybody got to do what they wanted!

The gibbon’s friends were also close by mind you.. So pretty much our days there were spent juggling between sight seeing, shopping, and food with my family and also the gibbons crew. So these are the highlights of my trip!

Picture1Seafood dinner at the Newton Food Centre

Those fried buns!!! They look like little piggies snouts don’t they? But they’re so good! And don’t worry, it was a Halal booth and I reckon they only poke holes in there to let the air out? LOL.. Finally had some of them infamous chilly crabs, and they were good but….nothing beats the chilly crabs from fatty crab, oh well! And just a fair warning, the food there is mighty expensive! But we did have those fried buns, some chilly crabs, butter prawns, fish, calamari and vegies with fried rice.. The bill had ended up being about 300 Dollars! But I guess that’s normal for a seafood dinner?

Is it me, or is everything in Singapore expensive? I don’t recommend you to do this if you’re in a group of 4..Didn’t think it would’ve been worth the money…But I would say the complete opposite if you’re in a group of 6 or more, and if you picked the right spot to have it. The first place that we went to was a disappointment and it was  seriously overpriced! But our second spot was much better, so look out for the carpets and pillows in front of closed shop lots..That’s where you want to get shisha fix!

Picture2Underwater World!

Can’t believe I did the tourist thing to do…But what can I say, I’ve always loved underwater world! Doesn’t really matter if I’m 3 or 23, sea creatures fascinates me. Too bad we couldn’t have gone to the Aquarium too, but maybe we’ll save that for our next trip to Singapore?

Picture4Gardens by the bay

After a full day of shopping, we wanted to catch the music and light show by those Supertrees.. So we headed there right before sunset to experience the gardens with a little bit of sunlight and settled on a nice spot to prop our cameras up. So what do you think? A must see at night right?

Picture5Supertrees

The Supertree show was superb! So it’s a MUST DO if you’re in Singapore..And since it’s free, the cheap traveler in me rejoices..And you should too, lol.

It was a fun long weekend, where I walked for miles and ate like I walked for miles. Haha. So what would be your must do’s when you’re in Singapore?

The Upholstery and Re-Upholstery Story

Standard

Wow..I’ve been away from this blog for a month!!! I haven’t even noticed..My my, how fast time flies..What to do, I’ve just been horribly busy with projects and clients for the past month…

One of my projects were these babies..Cushions for pallet benches, made for LAIN furniture..

GENOVASI
Simple Black Cushions with Piping and Tufting

And just another re-upholstery project for the house..Only now it’s for the dining table chairs, and all 8 of them! Well let me tell you one thing, it definitely took a toll on my hands..I need a manicure ASAP! lol.

These 2 projects took 3 weeks out of my time from the month that I was away. While weekends are kept for family and friends, from giggling sessions with little Hana, the sweetie pie, to engagements and weekends away. Its been a good last month of Uni break for me, so now….. Back to Uni for me!

I’ve been baking too and traveling but all shall be revealed in good time once I get all my photos sorted!
