The random long weekend that was marked in everybody’s calender as THE weekend to visit Singapore.
I had ended up in Singapore for LANEWAY with the gibbon! My sister was there for Universal Studios, and well my mom was there for the grandkids of course.. A different kind of vacation I must say, where everybody got to do what they wanted!
The gibbon’s friends were also close by mind you.. So pretty much our days there were spent juggling between sight seeing, shopping, and food with my family and also the gibbons crew. So these are the highlights of my trip!
Seafood dinner at the Newton Food Centre
Those fried buns!!! They look like little piggies snouts don’t they? But they’re so good! And don’t worry, it was a Halal booth and I reckon they only poke holes in there to let the air out? LOL.. Finally had some of them infamous chilly crabs, and they were good but….nothing beats the chilly crabs from fatty crab, oh well! And just a fair warning, the food there is mighty expensive! But we did have those fried buns, some chilly crabs, butter prawns, fish, calamari and vegies with fried rice.. The bill had ended up being about 300 Dollars! But I guess that’s normal for a seafood dinner?
Shisha session on Haji Lane
Is it me, or is everything in Singapore expensive? I don’t recommend you to do this if you’re in a group of 4..Didn’t think it would’ve been worth the money…But I would say the complete opposite if you’re in a group of 6 or more, and if you picked the right spot to have it. The first place that we went to was a disappointment and it was seriously overpriced! But our second spot was much better, so look out for the carpets and pillows in front of closed shop lots..That’s where you want to get shisha fix!
Underwater World!
Can’t believe I did the tourist thing to do…But what can I say, I’ve always loved underwater world! Doesn’t really matter if I’m 3 or 23, sea creatures fascinates me. Too bad we couldn’t have gone to the Aquarium too, but maybe we’ll save that for our next trip to Singapore?
Gardens by the bay
After a full day of shopping, we wanted to catch the music and light show by those Supertrees.. So we headed there right before sunset to experience the gardens with a little bit of sunlight and settled on a nice spot to prop our cameras up. So what do you think? A must see at night right?
Supertrees
The Supertree show was superb! So it’s a MUST DO if you’re in Singapore..And since it’s free, the cheap traveler in me rejoices..And you should too, lol.
It was a fun long weekend, where I walked for miles and ate like I walked for miles. Haha. So what would be your must do’s when you’re in Singapore?
